For a student with a strong appreciation for Louisiana culture. Applicant must have a minimum 3.0 GPA and a leadership role in an extracurricular activity. Special consideration for those in Social Sciences.

Since 2019, the Krewe of Pyros has helped nearly 50 students continue their college careers — awarding more than $125,000 across the DMV and Louisiana, including 10 HBCUs.
Our Scholarship Pipeline Program helps bridge the gap for deserving young men and women from Louisiana pursuing a degree at a school in the DMV — or DMV students heading to a school in Louisiana. We're equally focused on educating families on how to navigate financial aid before and during their child's college career, because too many qualified students leave money on the table simply because no one explained how the system works.
Each scholarship has its own eligibility criteria and application requirements. Explore the four awards below, then head to our Financial Aid Resource Center for tips on applying broadly and successfully.
Close the Gap Scholarship
For students enrolled in college or vocational learning (arts, culinary, music). Minimum 2.5 GPA. Applicants must prove they are in the last year of their degree or program.
Community Service Scholarship
For students who volunteer more than 40 hours per semester in non-school-sponsored activities. Minimum 2.5 GPA.
Rae of Sunshine Scholarship
Named in honor of deceased Charter Member Rae Prayor. For a student making a positive difference at the local, regional, or larger community level — environment, socioeconomic, social justice, food equity, quality of life, or health & wellness. Minimum 2.5 GPA.
